Jourdanton native Sydney Shiller has announced her decision to transfer from Texas Tech University to the University of Mississippi after a remarkable freshman season with the Texas Tech softball team, which made its first-ever appearance in the Women’s College World Series.

Shiller shared the news on her social media accounts, confirming her move to the Southeastern Conference. During her time with the Red Raiders, she participated in 23 games as a pinch runner, successfully stealing bases three times and scoring eight runs.

This transfer marks a significant shift for Shiller as she joins the Ole Miss softball program, which is known for its competitive stance in collegiate athletics. The transition to a new university offers her a fresh opportunity to further her career in an influential conference.
