The wild standoff went down Thursday at Glass House Farms in Camarillo, California, about 25 miles west of Los Angeles, where officers were trying to bust illegal migrant workers.
The agents were met by a crowd of angry protesters throwing rocks and blocking their path.
Federal agents fired tear gas and rubber bullets to push back the crowd, but the violence escalated quickly.
In dramatic video footage of the raid, a man in black running away from the agents appears to turn around, take aim with a handgun, and fire multiple times.
The FBI is hunting the gunman, who was seen wearing a black T-shirt and a white medical mask, the New York Post reported.
At least five people were hurt and taken to hospitals as the clash dragged on for four hours.

“There’s a real cost to these inhumane immigration actions on hardworking families and communities, including farmworker communities, across America,” the statement read.
California Congressman Salud Carbajal, whose district includes the farm that was raided, called the operation “disproportionate” and said the heavy-handed tactics risk sparking more violence, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The FBI released a photo of the suspected shooter, urging anyone with information to come forward, ABC News reported.
They are offering a $50,000 reward.
“This is serious,” said US Attorney Bill Essayli.
“Anyone targeting our agents will face federal prosecution.”
The FBI reward remains active as the search for the gunman continues.

Multiple agents arrived at Glass House Farms, a licensed cannabis facility, on Laguna Road and Las Posas Road in Camarillo. Another raid also occurred at another Glass House Farm in Carpinteria. As news broke of the ICE raids, people confronted agents on the road near the field. Throughout the day, the protest continued to grow. Tear gas and smoke bombs were thrown into the crowd multiple times throughout the day. Federal personnel used gas to push back protesters. Military helicopters were seen flying low over the fields, a maneuver generally used to flush out people hiding. n18oc_world n18oc_crux
