LONG BEACH, Miss. – A ribbon-cutting ceremony has marked the official beginning of a significant endeavor in Long Beach, with the Sweet Life Canna facility poised to impact the local cannabis industry and economy. “We’ve packed a lot of technology in this building that’s going to make us extremely successful,” stated Robert Carbone, General Manager of Sweet Life Canna. The facility aims to reach what he believes to be the highest level of automation in a growth facility, both in the country and the state.

Local Economic Impact and Community Support

Carbone emphasized the importance of hiring local talent, noting, “It’s a good spot. The vibe overall in town, Bay St. Louis is close, and you can go over to Biloxi.” He expressed enthusiasm for providing job opportunities to local workers, particularly those who have already demonstrated their capabilities in similar roles.

Long Beach Mayor George Bass echoed this sentiment, expressing gratitude for Sweet Life Canna’s decision to establish its operations in the community. During the ceremony, he highlighted the advanced technology of the facility while also sharing his personal connection as a cancer survivor. This relationship embodies the facility’s mission to offer alternative treatments to patients in need.

Cannabis Industry in Mississippi

Amidst a backdrop of evolving cannabis regulations in Mississippi, Carbone praised the state’s regulatory framework, which balances safety with business viability. “I believe this state has done a great job with their regulations and laws compared to other states,” he noted, indicating confidence in the facility’s compliance and operational success.

Sweet Life Canna is set to begin production next month, reflecting a broader trend in Mississippi’s cannabis sector that aims to reshape local healthcare options and stimulate economic growth.
