Like whenever I hear the door open, I kind of like, get a little scared,” Pickens said.The surveillance footage shows an interaction with customers that quickly escalated into an alleged armed robbery. Pickens initially thought the suspect was joking when he demanded everything in the store.”He was like just let me go and get everything in the store. And then I kind of like, laughed it off because I thought it was a joke. And then he, was like, no, for a and then he walked up to, like, the counter, and then he pulled something out of his waistband I didn’t see,” Pickens said. “And then he cocked it.”One of the suspects allegedly pulled out a gun, and moments later, the two men cleared merchandise from the shelves, with the stolen goods believed to be valued between hundreds and $1,000. The entire encounter was captured on video.”It was just really scary. I couldn’t do anything even after they, like, ran out of the door. I just stayed back there with, like, my hands up like that. And it was hard,” Pickens said.After the suspects fled, Pickens locked the door and contacted his manager, who then called the police. It was a stupid decision to do all that,” Pickens said.Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the police.
