Good Day Farm, a prominent cannabis company in the South, achieved a significant milestone today with the sale of its flower to a medical patient in Oxford, Mississippi. This marks the first legal medical cannabis transaction in the state, occurring nearly one year after the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act was enacted.
Celebration of Launch and Expansion
To commemorate this historic moment, Good Day Farm will host a Grand Opening event at its dispensary in Hattiesburg on Friday, January 27. Mississippi becomes the fourth state for Good Day Farm, which already operates in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Missouri.
“As a proud Ole Miss alumnus, I’m elated to make our premium cannabis flower the first product available to patients in Mississippi,” said Ryan Herget, Head of Good Day Farm Retail Management. He emphasized the company’s commitment to serving patients across the state through six dispensary locations from the Tennessee border to the Gulf Coast.
Product Offerings and Accessibility
Good Day Farm’s range of products includes various flower strains, with plans to expand its offerings to include edibles, vapes, and tinctures, including award-winning THC gummies and a popular vaporizer. Starting Friday, the Hattiesburg location will officially open to medical patients on a Monday-Saturday schedule, along with limited hours on Sundays.
The Grand Opening celebration will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:30 a.m., followed by the store opening at 10 a.m., complete with branded merchandise giveaways while supplies last.
Future Prospects and Community Commitment
In response to the launch of legal medical sales, Good Day Farm plans to quickly expand its operations in Mississippi, aiming to double its cultivation and production capacity in the coming year. The company is also dedicated to community outreach, recently donating water to disaster relief efforts in Jackson.
Zach Wilson, Head of Mississippi Operations, remarked, “Our team has worked tirelessly to prepare for this milestone moment, and we’re proud to bring Good Day Farm to market as the first brand available to Mississippi patients.” The company looks forward to continuing its focus on cannabis advocacy, education, and community support for the foreseeable future.
