This year marks the seventh consecutive Cannabis Business Times “Best Cannabis Companies to Work For” program. Honoring companies on this year’s list is essential, as they have successfully navigated numerous industry challenges to create environments where employees thrive. These awards celebrate their noteworthy achievements.
The 2026 “Best Cannabis Companies to Work For” list includes firms from cultivation operations, dispensaries, and ancillary businesses. Common themes emerge across all recognized companies: a strong focus on employee recognition, comprehensive health care benefits, and formal programs for professional development and career advancement. Many emphasize a healthy work/life balance alongside enjoyable workplace culture.
How Companies Were Evaluated
The Cannabis Business Times program, conducted with Workforce Research Group, evaluates participating companies through workplace analyses and employee satisfaction surveys. Companies are assessed based on anonymous employee feedback (80% of the score) and employer evaluations (20%). The surveys cover nine key areas including Core Employee Experience, Job Satisfaction, Communication, Manager Relationships, Training and Professional Development, and Work/Life Balance.
All cannabis businesses in North America with a minimum of ten permanent employees are eligible, provided they have been in operation for over a year. Cultivation and dispensary businesses must derive a significant portion of their revenue from respective operations.
